Book Design
Typesetting. Kerning. Layers. Oh my! Books are more than words on a page, so I craft reading experiences that feel intentional and visually compelling from the first page to the acknowledgements. My work balances deeply readable interiors with covers that jump off the shelf.
I have been working in InDesign since yearbook staff in high school and can format paragraph styles in my sleep. I have professional experience designing book interiors and covers across multiple genres, as well as long form print materials like catalogs and manuals. I bring the same thoughtful structure and consistency to every project.
As someone who reads 100+ books a year, I design from both sides of the page. I know what keeps a reader up past their bedtime and what nudges them toward a DNF. To me, the best design feels invisible yet unforgettable.
Publishing is a team sport, so I collaborate closely with authors, editors, and production teams to ensure the visual direction honors the voice of the manuscript while meeting timelines and print specifications.
I am currently expanding my fluency in EPUB reflowable formats, learning how to translate strong print layout into flexible digital systems.
